Preface

Results of exhibitions are quite a good help of information for breeders. By taking part in a show you compare your own point of view on the state of breeding to that others. Furthermore, by this simple means you may get information on breeding activities and results of other breeders.

An important aspect in favour of shows is the possibility to bring one's own breed into "good presentation". If representatives of your own breed will be shown frequently and with great success and - if in addition they become "Best in Show" or achieve a rank in the Terrier Group - this always will be good advertising for our breed on the whole, regardless who ever might be the owner or breeder of this dog. Furthermore, shows present information on the progeny of different lines and thus are a good help for young breeders.

In the meantime it is not seldom in Germany that Irish Terriers in the competition with the various breed are quite in front. The level the dogs being shown in Germany really is remarkable and may be observed with interest.

The most important and may-be the biggest shows in Germany are the VDH Europe Winner Dog Show, the KfT Club Winner Show and the VDH German Winner Show, and furthermore some important exhibitions with titles of other countries. The results of these shows are listed as follows:
